FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling operation of the internal combustion engine includes the step of adjusting the fuel composition based on the fuel injection, namely ethanol content of the fuel. The composition of the fuel can be studied during transient conditions by relating the effects of the transition fuel supply caused by different rates of evaporation higher and lower ethanol content, the measured air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas.
EFFECT: ethanol content, independent of the stoichiometry of the combustion, can be evaluated even during transients, which reduced the sensitivity to deviations of parameters of parts and sensors drift.
