FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of operation of the engine with a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is to supply cooled EGR gases to the engine cylinders. The concentration of internal EGR gases supplied to the engine cylinders, depending on the concentration of cooled EGR gases supplied to the engine cylinders, with reduced engine load, is increased. The concentration of internal EGR gases is increased as the concentration of cooled EGR gases increases. Additionally, the concentration of cooled EGR gases supplied to the cylinders of the engine is reduced by closing the EGR valve and increasing the overlap of the opening time of the intake and exhaust valves while reducing the load on the engine until the speed of the load reduction on the engine does not exceed the threshold for reducing the load on the engine. A version of the engine operating method with a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system and an engine system are explained.
EFFECT: reduction of the probability of ignition misfire in the engine when it is operating with cooled EGR gases and reducing emissions NOx with small loads on the engine.
