FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electrode is fixed in the electrode holder, which is arranged to move towards the article under the action of gravity. Electrode is brought together with the product during arcing according to electrode melting rate and moving the welding bath on the product along the lines of welding with cross-section regulation of welded roller along its length. Before welding, for a given rod diameter and welding current, a change in the length of the molten portion of the electrode is established as a function of the arc burning time, which determines the change in the electrode melting rate. In the welding process, the electrode and the product are brought closer with the change in speed, depending on the electrode melting rate. The electrode or product is moved along the welding line with a speed change which is established based on the obtained electrode melting rate and the required cross-sectional area of the welded roller along its length.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to automate the supply of electrode to the weld pool, improve the quality of welding joints and the productivity of work during welding of short joints due to the use of an operator to replace the electrodes.
