SUBSTANCE: method for the extended transmission of a physical random-access channel, a network device and a terminal are disclosed, where the terminal implementation is used in an exemplary manner and the terminal comprises a layer determination unit configured to determine information of the extended transmission layer of the PRACH physical random-access channel; a parameter determining unit configured to determine the first characteristic parameter which relates to the extended PRACH transmission and which is associated with the information of the PRACH extended transmission layer which is determined by the layer determining unit, wherein the first characteristic parameter includes at least one of the transmitted power, preamble format and time-frequency resource; and a sending unit configured to perform an extended PRACH sending according to the first characteristic parameter determined by the parameter determining unit. In the above-mentioned hardware solution, the first characteristic parameter is associated with the layer information, and the characteristic parameter used for the extended PRACH sending can be determined quickly and accurately.
