SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication technologies, in particular to a method for extended transmission of a physical random access channel, a network device and a terminal. Terminal includes: a level determination unit configured to determine extended transmission level information of a physical random access channel PRACH; a parameter determination unit configured to determine a first characteristic parameter which relates to PRACH extended transmission and which is associated with PRACH extended transmission layer information, which is determined by the level determining unit, wherein the first characteristic parameter includes at least one of transmitted power, preamble format and time-frequency resource; and a sending unit configured to perform extended PRACH transmission according to the first characteristic parameter determined by the parameter determination unit.

EFFECT: in the above hardware solution, the first characteristic parameter is associated with level information, and the characteristic parameter used for the extended PRACH sending can be quickly and accurately determined, which reduces the terminal power.
