FIELD: fuel combustion devices.

SUBSTANCE: control method for fuel dose by pneumatic drive of fuel injector of free piston power module with common external combustion chamber (ECC) is proposed. Compressed air for driving fuel injector is taken from compressed air supply line to ECC 1, enters air accumulator 31 and charges it. In order to set supply of required fuel dose to ECC 1, control system installs fuel dose installer 32 at corresponding set fuel dose. To supply fuel to ECC 1, control system switches the compressed air supply control valve 33 to position where compressed air from accumulator 31 enters one of cavities of fuel injector drive piston 36. Under air pressure effect, piston 36 moves towards ECC 1, is connected to plunger 37 of fuel injector and, together with it, moves to stop 38 as far as it will go. Fuel from plunger cavity 37 is fed to ECC 1. In order to prepare fuel injector for the next fuel supply cycle, control system switches compressed air supply control valve 33 to position where compressed air from pneumatic accumulator 31 enters other cavity of fuel injector drive piston 36. Piston 36 moves in the opposite direction from the ECC. Plunger 37 of fuel injector, under the action of plunger spring 43, also moves in the opposite direction from ECC. At the same time, fuel from fuel tank is absorbed through check valve 44 into cavity of fuel injector plunger.

EFFECT: control method for fuel dose by pneumatic drive of fuel injector of free piston power module with common external combustion chamber (ECC) is proposed.
