FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: aqueous oral care composition contains from 0.125 wt % to 0.75 wt % of a water soluble tin ion source where the water content is 52.05-54.55 wt %, wherein the tin ion source is tin chloride, and wherein the composition comprises a tartar prevention agent containing a pyrophosphate salt. It is also proposed to use a water soluble tin ion source to increase the resistance to microbial contamination of the oral care composition where the water content is 52.05-54.55 wt %, where the tin ion source is present in the oral composition at a concentration of 0.125 wt % to 0.75 wt %, wherein the tin ion source is tin chloride, and wherein the composition comprises a tartar prevention agent containing a pyrophosphate salt.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides high resistance to microbial contamination of aqueous compositions comprising pyrophosphate salt as a tartar prevention agent.
