SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a shut-off member which has valve housing (1) with an interior and with at least one inlet (4) and at least one outlet (5), and closure element (2) which is mounted in the interior so as to be rotatable about an axis, wherein a free space for through-flow of a fluid between inlet and outlet (4, 5) is present between the closure element (2) and valve housing (1) and a pair of sealing surfaces (6, 7) is provided on the at least one inlet (4) between valve housing (1) and closure element (2), and wherein the sealing surface (7) of closure element (2) is pivotable by rotation of closure element (2) and, in the locked position of the shut-off member, blocks inlet (4) by bearing in a fluid-tight manner on sealing surface (6) of valve housing (1), wherein a gap or free space is provided around closure element (2).
