FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: casting-rolling unit comprises a rotary casting machine 1, a levelling machine 2, flying shears 3 with drums 26 and 27, a box 4 for collecting cuttings. The upper tensioning wheel 5 and the lower casting wheel 6 are enclosed by an endless belt 7. A grooved pass of trapezoidal shape is cut in wheel 6, which together with belt 7 forms a casting trough 8. Liquid metal is poured into bath 13, which is connected through feeder tube 14 to chute inlet 10. In the bottom of the casting wheel pass there is a recess in the form of oblique triangle. The lower levelling rolls 21 are passed, shaped and sized corresponding to the recess in the bottom of casting wheel pass. The electric drive of the lower levelling rollers provides rotation of rollers at linear speed, which exceeds the linear rotation speed of drums of flying shears by 1-3%. The billet 23 subjected to straightening by its lower base enters the pass of the lower levelling rollers, and its projection on its upper base rests on the upper cylindrical levelling rollers 24 which eliminates rotation of the billet around its longitudinal axis.

EFFECT: passes in the lower levelling rolls prevent transverse displacement of the billet along the levelling rolls, provide self-centering of the billet and eliminate discontinuities and cracks in the blank.
