FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method involves treating the silver surface in an aqueous solution of sodium thiosulfate Na2S2O3×5H2O - 790 g/l at a temperature of 35±2°C when using pulsed monopolar and bipolar currents of a rectangular shape with the following amplitude-time parameters: timp=0.1-10.0 ms, tneg.imp=0.1-10.0 ms, the delay time of a negative polarity current pulse td=0.1-10.0 ms, tpauses=0.1-10.0 ms, the current amplitude density in a pulse of positive polarity iimp=0-5 A/cm2, the amplitude current density in the negative polarity pulse ineg.imp=0-5 A/cm2 and the treatment time is 0.5-15.0 minutes, while the current is monopolar when ineg.imp=0.
EFFECT: formation of passive decorative films resistant to environmental influences on the surface of 925 silver.
