FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a hypochlorous acid solution that comprises feeding an alkali metal chloride stock solution to an electrolytic cell, the interelectrode space of which is divided into an anode and a cathode compartment by a porous ceramic diaphragm, electrochemical treating the stock solution, and removing the hypochlorous acid solution from the anode chamber. The method is characterized by the fact that the initial solution is fed to the cathode chamber, filling the anode chamber is carried out due to the flow of the initial solution through the diaphragm, and electrolysis is carried out when the pressure in the cathode chamber is exceeded with respect to the anode chamber. The differential pressure at the diaphragm is maintained within 0.2-5.0 bar.
EFFECT: use of the proposed method makes it possible to obtain a hypochlorous acid solution by electrolysis.
