FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: methods for controlling temperature of the glow plug in the diesel engine are described. In one example, a controller can control voltage of the first phase supplied to the glow plug depending on the engine start up time parameter, and supplying lower voltage of the second phase to the ignition plug to control cylinder temperature, and therefore, engine start up time.
EFFECT: reduced voltage of the second phase makes it possible to increase the stage for starting up the working cycle to increase durability of the glow plug and further increase the service life of the glow plug.
