FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Method for the engine is that, in response to the fact that the current level of soot on the filter of solids of exhaust gases below the target level of soot and the level of ash on the filter of solid particles of waste gases below the threshold level of ash, fuel injection and/or fuel injection pressure is controlled to increase engine output by soot. Increased soot production is performed until the current level of soot reaches the target level of soot. Target level of soot is varied depending on engine temperature and engine load. Embodiment of the method for the engine and an engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of resistance to exhaust gas flow.
