SUBSTANCE: in a method for determining the level of a liquid in a reservoir, in which, in the first measurement step, electromagnetic oscillations are excited in a long line segment placed vertically in a reservoir with a liquid to be monitored, the resonant frequency is measured ƒ its electromagnetic oscillations, in addition, in the second measurement step, excite in a segment of a long line electromagnetic waves at a fixed frequency F, take reflected waves, measure the phase shift Δϕ excited and received electromagnetic waves and perform a joint functional transformation ƒ and Δϕ, electromagnetic oscillations are excited in a length of a long line placed vertically in a reservoir with a liquid-controlled length l with an end horizontal section of fixed length z0, step-like filled with fluid and emptied when, respectively, the flow of liquid into the reservoir and its removal from the reservoir, and the z-value of the liquid level is determined as a result of the joint functional transformation ƒ and Δϕ according to the relation.
EFFECT: invention can be used for high-precision determination of the liquid level in any reservoir, regardless of the electrophysical parameters of the liquid.
