FIELD: measurement technology.

Method comprises vertically placing two identical lengths of coaxial long line, filled with media in accordance with their location in reservoir, exciting in length sections long electromagnetic oscillations at resonance frequencies ƒ1 and ƒ2, which correspond to different standing wave electric field energy distributions along long line segments data, and these resonance frequencies are measured, in addition between the parallel external conductors of the long line segments, electromagnetic waves are excited in the section of the two-wire line at the fixed frequency, at the same end, electromagnetic waves propagating along it and reflected from its lower end are received at the same end, phase shift is measured Δϕ these excited and received electromagnetic waves and perform joint functional conversion ƒ1 and ƒ2 and Δϕ, by the result of which the position of the interface of substances is determined.
