FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: in a method for the measurement of a level of dielectric liquid in a container, in the first measurement, electromagnetic waves are excited at a fixed frequency in the first section of a long line, located vertically in the container with liquid and filled with liquid according to its level in the container. Electromagnetic waves distributed along it and reflected from its lower end are received at the same end of the section of the line. A phase shift of excited and received waves is measured. In the second measurement, electromagnetic waves distributing at a speed differing from the speed of wave distribution in the first section of the line are excited on the same fixed frequency as in the first measurement or on another fixed frequency. Waves distributing along it and reflected from its lower end are received at the same end of the section of the line. A shift of these excited and received electromagnetic waves is measured, and combined functional conversion of measured values is performed. The level of liquid in the container is assessed according to the result.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measurement.
