METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE EFFICIENCY OF COLPOELONGATION IN PATIENTS WITH VAGINAL APLASIA Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2645961 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to obstetrics and gynecology, radiation diagnosis, and may be used to predict the effectiveness of colpoelongation in patients with vaginal aplasia. Extensibility of the tissues of the vaginal fossa is estimated using ultrasonic elastography with color mapping. Investigation is carried out on a HITACHI Preirus ultrasound scanner by an intracavitary V53W sensor with a frequency of 8–4 MHz. Position of the patient – lying flat on back. Anatomical landmarks of the vaginal fossa are the urethra and the bladder in front, the front wall of the rectum behind. Vaginal fossa is squeezed – soft compression in 3 points. Results of the study are recorded for 3–4 minutes in the form of static images or clips on the hard disk of the device. Elastometries are evaluated on a computerized color scale. Licensed program APFill Ink & Toner Coverage Meter is used. It is estimated in percent according to the filling of color pixels, so that the elastographic picture of the vaginal fossa is represented by red, green and blue spectra in different percentages. Stretchability of the tissues of the vaginal fossa is assessed by filling the color pixels of the green spectrum. When filling the green spectrum, more than 38.1 % predict a high efficiency of colpoelongation.

EFFECT: method allows non-invasive, real-time predicting the effectiveness of colpoelongation, improves the accuracy of the evaluation by using an objective criterion for evaluating the elastic properties of the vaginal fossa.
