FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: flame arrester contains a body and fire-blocking elements made of each of two metal corrugated tapes rolled with formation of inclined channels preventing direct migration of the incandescent microparticles into the protected volume. The side walls of corrugations can be made with additional corrugation, and the corrugations themselves comprise alternating inclined and straight sections. Restrictions of the channels cross-section, geometry and mutual orientation of corrugations allow the flame arrester parameters to be brought in line with the rules for flame arrester fire-safe operation a given steam-air mixture and to increase tank protection efficiency.

EFFECT: prevention of fire spreading during oil storage in tanks.
