FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, particularly devices for flame retarding and prevention of fire spread into reservoir or pipeline.
SUBSTANCE: fire barrier comprises at least one heat-spreading head made of material with high heat-conductivity and thermal capacity. The head is installed on fire-shielding member or fire barrier body. The head is perforated over the full surface thereof. Perforated head part is spaced H distance from fire-shielding member, wherein the H is chosen from 0≤H≤L, where L is fire-shielding member height. If H doesn't obey above inequality expected effect cannot be achieved because of flame penetration in space between heat-spreading head and fire-shielding member surface.
EFFECT: improved fire localization ability and increased fire-resistance of fire barrier due to increased intensity of heat removal from it by means of heat-spreading head.
