FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous metal casting. Crystallizer comprises body (1) with heat pipe installed therein, condenser (5) connected by steam lines (4) and condensate lines (6) with heat pipe with the formation of a closed evaporative-condensation circuit, and casing (7). In the space between the pipes of the heat pipe, longitudinal ribs of 4-5 mm thick and 5-7 mm high are uniformly located along the perimeter at a distance of 12-15 mm from each other. Inner surface of pipe (3) between the fins is covered with a porous coating of 0.4-0.7 mm thick. Coolant impregnating the coating is poured into the space between pipes (2) and (3) and heated by electric heating elements (10). After reaching the set temperature and shutdown of elements (10), metal is poured into pipe (3). Coolant vapor, which is formed uniformly along the height of the crystallizer due to the porous coating, enters the condenser through the steam lines, where it is cooled by water supplied into the space between the condenser and the casing.
EFFECT: increase in the cooling reliability of the wall of the crystallizer and an increase in the strength of the structure are ensured.
