FIELD: casting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting of metals and can be used in modeling cooling of the crystalliser. The crystalliser model comprises a body with a heat pipe located therein formed by pipes (1, 2), installed coaxially one inside the other forming a closed space between the pipes for the heat-carrying agent with a boiling point of 40 to 60°C, a condenser (4) associated by steam lines and condensate lines with the heat pipe, forming a closed evaporation-condensation circuit, electric heating elements (8) located outside of the body of the heat pipe, and thermocouples (11 to 13) connected to the automatic cooling control system. A copper tube coil (5) for cooling water is located outside of the condenser. The crystalliser model is made on a scale of M=0.2 to 0.28 relative to the size of an industrial crystalliser. The diameter of the copper tube "dt", the height of the capacitor "h", the internal "d1" and the outer "d2" diameters of the body of the heat pipe, the height of the body "H" are connected by the ratio: dt/h=0.2 to 0.3 mm; d1/d2=0.55 to 0.65; d1/H=0.3 to 0.4.
EFFECT: reduction in the labour intensity of manufacture of the crystalliser model, reduction in the time of research for the formation of the preform are provided.
