SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Method of at least one image encoding comprises separating of at least one image into a plurality of blocks; grouping of the plurality of blocks into the predetermined number of groups of blocks and encoding each of the groups of blocks, comprising for the first block of the given group of blocks: converting the first block; determining that the first block is first in the block order in a given group of blocks and in response to the determination that the first block is first one in the order of blocks in the given blocks group, entropy encoding of the first block based on the first probability data set, at that, the first probability data set comprises a first set of probabilities of the symbols occurrence associated with the block, which is located immediately adjacent to the first block and which belongs to another blocks group, which is different from this group of blocks in the predetermined set of groups of blocks; for the second block from this group of blocks: conversion of the second block; in response to determination that the second block is not the first one in order of blocks in the given blocks group, the second block entropy encoding based on the second probability data set.
EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of the flexibility in the parallel encoding / decoding implementation.
