FIELD: image encoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for encoding at least one image, containing stages, at which: the image is cut into multiple blocks (MB), the mentioned blocks are grouped into a given number of block subsets, each mentioned block subset is parallelly encoded, while blocks of the considered subset are encoded according to a given sequential order of passage. A method for encoding the content for the current block of a sequence under consideration is proposed, containing a sub-stage (C341) of encoding with prediction of the mentioned current block and a sub-stage (C345) of entropy encoding of the mentioned current block based on at least one probability of symbol occurrence. In the case when the current block is the first block to be encoded in the considered subset, the mentioned probability of symbol occurrence is the one that has been calculated for a given encoded and decoded block of at least one other subset. In the case where the current block is a block of the mentioned considered subset other than the mentioned first block of the considered subset, the mentioned probability of symbol occurrence is that, which has been calculated for at least one encoded and decoded block belonging to the same specified considered subset.
