FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-frequency hardware and can be used producing high-frequency radiation generators (HFG). High-frequency radiation generator based on hollow cathode discharge contains gas discharge chamber formed by entire cathode and anode, power source and electric load are connected to electrodes of chamber. Cathode is divided into sections isolated from each other, and the internal surfaces of the sections facing the axis of the cathode form a cavity of the cathode, all sections of the cathode are connected to the power source through a resistive unit which is a casing in contact with the outer surfaces of the cathode sections made of a material having a resistivity ρk in the range 0.1⋅Rg⋅Ss/ds<ρk<n⋅Rg⋅Sc/dc, where Rg – internal resistance of the generator, Ss – the area of a single cathode section, ds – thickness of the shell wall, n is the number of cathode sections, while the outer surface of the casing is contacted with an additional external electrode directly connected to the power supply.
EFFECT: simplifying installation of device with its compactness.
