FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biochemistry. Disclosed is a system and a method for collecting nucleic acid from a body fluid sample, as well as a sterile removable cap for a receptacle for waste collection. System comprises a receptacle, a removable cap for the receptacle with a vent and an opening for connection with a sample of the body fluid, a filter column, a container for collecting a body fluid sample and a transport container configured to receive the filter column. Method comprises providing a body fluid sample in a container, connection of the container to the receptacle, passing said sample from the container through the filter column, placing the transport container above the filter column, engaging the filter column with the transport container and detaching the filter column from the receptacle cap.
EFFECT: inventions enable to process a larger volume of body fluid sample and to detect concentrations of extracellular nucleic acids in a body fluid sample.
