Device for receiving a sample comprises a vessel; receiver communicating with sample receiving vessel; and a cap. Cap comprises a pusher for coming into contact with the sample when the sample is in the receiver, wherein the receiver comprises a grinding element for grinding the sample when the cap is in contact with the receiver for pushing the ground sample into the vessel, wherein pusher comprises first end connected with cap inner part and second end for contact with specimen. Also disclosed is a receiver for use in a device, a method of ensuring preservation of a biomolecule, a system for ensuring preservation of the biomolecule, as well as a kit for ensuring preservation of the biomolecule.
