SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Disclosed are methods of producing a rabies virus-like particle (VLP) in a plant or part of a plant, virus-like particles (VLP) obtained using same, a composition comprising said virus-like particles (VLP), and a method for inducing immunity to an infection caused by a rabies virus. Said rabies virus-like particles contain native rabies virus glycoprotein (G) and a lipid derived from the plant's plasma membrane, wherein the native rabies virus glycoprotein (G) may contain plant-specific N-glycans or modified N-glycans.
EFFECT: disclosed rabies virus-like particles and composition containing same can be used in medicine to induce an immune response in a subject against a rabies virus.
