FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and a method for producing an enterovirus-like particle (EVLP) in a plant. First nucleic acid and a second nucleic acid are introduced into the plant, part of the plant or plant cell. First nucleic acid comprises a first regulatory region active in a plant operably linked to a nucleotide sequence encoding an enterovirus P1 polyprotein 71. Second nucleic acid comprises a second regulatory region active in the plant and operatively linked to a nucleotide sequence encoding one or more proteases 3C or 3CD of enterovirus 71. First regulatory region comprises a first enhancer element, and the second regulatory region comprises a second enhancer element. Plant, part of the plant or plant cell is incubated under conditions which enable nucleic acid expression, thus obtaining EVLP. Present invention also relates to an extract, a composition and a cell containing EVLP produced by the method according to the invention.

EFFECT: obtaining picornavirus-like particles in plants.
