FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a method of producing a virus-like particle (VLP) in a plant, as well as to a method for inducing an immune response to influenza virus subtype B or NS in a subject and a method of producing a composition for inducing an immune response to influenza virus subtype B or H3 in a subject using said method. Said method comprises feeding into a plant a nucleotide sequence encoding an influenza virus haemagglutinin (HA) protein, selected from a group consisting of B and H3, and a nucleotide sequence encoding proton channel protein. Also disclosed is a method of producing plant material containing a virus-like particle (VLP), and a method of producing plant material containing a virus-like particle (VLP). Above methods also envisage introduction of a nucleotide sequence encoding a haemagglutinin protein (HA) of an influenza virus selected from a group consisting of B and H3 into the plant, and a nucleotide sequence coding the proton channel protein.
EFFECT: invention enables to efficiently produce a virus-like particle in a plant.
