SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of fodder production, namely to a chew for pets and a method for its production. Aerated chew composition for pets contains protein, water and supercritical fluid in an amount sufficient to occupy 5-55% of the total volume of the composition when the supercritical fluid turns into gas. Wherein the protein in the composition contains 30-50% by weight of fibrous protein and 15-25% of gelling protein. Composition may further comprise an additive component selected from the group consisting of flavour intensifiers, fat, vitamins, minerals, colorants, preservatives and combinations thereof. To obtain the chewing product for pets, the composition is subjected to injection molding. Composition can be extruded before the injection molding process. Supercritical fluid can be added to the composition during the extrusion process.
EFFECT: implementation of the group of inventions provides production of the product for the safe and pleasant removal of plaque and calculus in animals, and also provides weight loss and the ability to control the weight of the animal.
