FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: elongated mounting rod comprises a node for placing needles with suture material and a stabilizer that changes the configuration between the unexpanded profile adapted for insertion and the expanded profile. Gripping tube is located over the rod. Gripping tube can hold at least a portion of the needles carrying the suture material when the needles have passed through the tissue to be sewn into engagement with the gripper. Casing located above the gripping tube may have the fabric to be sewn as an intermediate layer close to the stabilizer when it is in the expanded state. First actuator can move the gripping tube distally relative to the rod to reduce the distance between the proximal end of the stabilizer and the distal end of the stabilizer to expand the stabilizer, and also can move the casing distally relative to the tissue positioning shaft as an intermediate layer. Second actuator can deflect the needles radially outwardly to move in the proximal direction to pass through the tissue to be stitched and engage with the gripper and then return a portion of each of them not held by the gripper to a distal position to remove the device.
EFFECT: invention provides systems and methods for delivering suture material.
