SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Video decoding method, in which the index x and the index y are obtained from the bitstream, showing the x coordinate and the y coordinate of the last significant coefficient among the conversion block conversion coefficients, determining the last significant coefficient scanning index based on the index x and the index y, from the bit stream obtaining the last significant coefficient level information, restoring the last significant coefficient, using the last significant coefficient level information, from the bit stream obtaining the significant coefficient flag and the first conversion coefficient level information, in which the scanning index is less than the scanning index of the last significant coefficient among the conversion coefficients, restoring the first conversion coefficient by using the significant coefficient flag and the first conversion coefficient level information, performing the inverse conversion on the conversion block using the conversion coefficients.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of decoding position of last significant transformation coefficient in a transformation block having a large size.
