FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of repairing a longitudinal weld of a pipe applied by laser welding. Defect is detected by ultrasonic testing by scanning along the seam line using ultrasonic transducers until a defect is detected. Coordinate model of the defect is constructed, the data of which is used to construct the coordinate model of the sample, which is introduced into the control unit. Control unit performs positioning in the repair area of the optical laser head, by which laser gouging is performed at the defect sampling stage by heating and melting the metal with a laser beam in the sampling zone, followed by removal of the molten metal by a compressed air jet. Sealing of the sampling is carried out by the action of laser radiation on the filler material placed in the sample cavity.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to perform a repair seam having a small width, with maximum preservation of the geometry of the longitudinal seam in the repair zone.
