SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automated control and intellectual diagnostics of rolling production. In implementation of the method, a preliminary simulation of the drive motor current during rolling is performed in the case of a calculated process flow and typical violations; form typical diagrams of changes in the current of the drive motor in time at the calculated flow of the rolling process and typical violations. Comparison is made of the current diagram of the drive motor registered with the rolling chart with typical diagrams of current changes and determines its belonging to one of the typical diagrams of current changes and, accordingly, the deviation of the rolling process from the calculated values by the coefficient of determination R2, calculated by the mathematical expression. In this case, with the value R2≥0.9 determine the conformity of the rolling process to the calculated one, and for R2<0.9 the disruption of the rolling process is established and conclusions are drawn regarding the deviations of the process characteristics from the calculated values.

EFFECT: method provides improvement in the quality of the output products and the reliability of control.
