SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling the supply of power to an LED lighting system, and more particularly to methods and apparatus for automatically controlling the supply current used to power such a system. Result is achieved by the fact that the LED lighting system comprises a power supply circuit for supplying the consumed power supply current to LED tape (200). Power supply circuit (100) includes input terminals (Kl, K2) for receiving the supply voltage from the power supply voltage, output terminals (short circuit, K4) connected to the input leads of tape LED (200), reader module (106) connected between output terminals (short circuit, K4) for measuring the impedance of LED tape (200). Reading module is configured to control switch (104) and transmit the measured impedance value to excitation module (108). Excitation module (108) is configured to generate a power supply current depending on the length of LED tape (200), judging from the measured value of the impedance.
EFFECT: technical result is the provision of power supply to lighting systems that can be cut (LED tapes).
