EFFECT: organic synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of carbon nanotubes with a pore diameter of 7-11 as a heterogeneous co-catalyst in the production of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane (DMD) by condensation of tert-butanol and formaldehyde. In this case, the synthesis of DMD is carried out in the presence of phosphoric acid, taken as a base acid catalyst.

EFFECT: increase in the selectivity of the formation of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane.
