SUBSTANCE: invention relates to basic organic and petrochemical synthesis and can be used in the production of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane by condensation of isobutylene and formaldehyde. Proposed is a porous polyphenylenephthalide as a heterogeneous cocatalyst. Synthesis of DMD is carried out in the presence of phosphoric acid, taken as the basic acid catalyst.

EFFECT: increasing the selectivity of the formation of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane.
