SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic and medical chemistry, namely to 6-(3,5-Diphenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2(3H)-ylidene)-2,4-diphenyl-4H-1,3,4-thiadiazin-5-one of the formula I. Invention also relates to a process for its preparation. Process is carried out by reacting thiadiazole with sodium hydroxide followed by oxidative cyclisation with air oxygen. And thiadiazole is boiled with sodium hydroxide in a water-alcohol medium with a reflux condenser, then the reaction mass is kept in air at room temperature, followed by isolation of the desired product. .
EFFECT: technical result is preparation of a new chemical compound that can be used in medicine as a potential antimicrobial agent.
