FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and apparatus for ultrasonic flow measurement by overhead method using transit time measurement method. For method according to invention for ultrasonic flow measurement, method of measuring transit time on measuring tube comprises at least four acoustic transducers, which, with the help of control device, are controlled in such a way that flow measurement is performed alternately one after another in X-configuration and reflective arrangement. To this end, respectively, two acoustic transducers are included in corresponding transceiver pair for flow measurement in X-shaped configuration, or, respectively, two acoustic transducers are included in respective transceiver pair for two reflective arrangements.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of measuring device for measurement of flow by overhead method, which only with two pairs of acoustic transducers provides ability to measure both in reflective layout and in X-configuration, without requiring change in position of acoustic transducers when switching between layouts.
