SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas sensor 10, gas sensor 10 comprising measuring channel 11 with gas inlet 12 and gas outlet 13, at least one sensing layer 20, reference electrode 30 and voltage controlled data evaluation unit 50, comparison electrode 30 being capacitively coupled to sensing layer 20, comparison electrode 30 being connected to the current with data evaluation unit 50, sensor layer 20 being formed in measuring channel 11, measuring channel 11 forming a dielectric layer between sensitive layer 20 and reference electrode 30, and wherein sensing layer 20 comprises substrate 21 and analyte binding layer 22. Invention provides that analyte binding layer 22 is a self-assembling monomolecular layer.
EFFECT: invention provides a gas sensor that is suitable for use in personal gas measuring devices, with the help of such a sensor, it is possible to reliably and reliably detect volatile organic compounds, in particular benzene.
