SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymerisation catalysts, specifically to a polymerisation catalyst of formula (I)

in which at least one M1 or M2 is selected from Ni(II) and Ni(III)-X. Value of radicals is given in the claims. Also disclosed are a method of reacting carbon dioxide with epoxide, reaction of epoxide and anhydride, reaction of lactide and/or lactone and polymer product.
EFFECT: disclosed catalysts have high activity and selectivity, particularly with respect to epoxides.
