SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method for improving the quality of a titanium-containing feedstock involves oxidation of titanium-containing feedstock using gaseous oxygen and simultaneous selective chlorination of impurity metals in titanium-containing feedstock. Impurity chlorides are separated and removed.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce chlorine losses during the chlorination of titanium-containing feedstock, to obtain feedstock with high titanium content.
