FIELD: protective devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical devices against overvoltage, for example, lightning, the principle of which is based on an electric discharge. An arrester with a discharge chamber consisting of electrodes (3,4), between which is placed dielectric element (2) with aperture (8), wherein at least one of the electrodes is equipped with a hole, having valve (7) arranged to discharge products from the discharge chamber. At least one electrode has a recess in the surface facing the dielectric element, and also to another electrode through an opening in the dielectric element, the dielectric element being adjacent to the electrode along the perimeter of the recess. Invention provides a reduction in the duration of the discharge and a decrease in the threshold of discharge, i. e., the amount of overvoltage.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in the duration of the discharge and a decrease in the threshold of discharge.
