FIELD: optics; instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical instrumentation and relates to a diamond diffraction grating for the visible range. Diffraction grating contains a diamond substrate with a diffraction periodic microstructure embedded in its surface. Elements of the diffraction periodic microstructure are graphitized regions on the surface of a single crystal diamond subjected to ion irradiation with boron ions and characterized by a different dielectric capacitivity with respect to the substrate material.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of creating a diffraction grating on a single crystal diamond with the possibility of using it both for reflected and transmitted light.
