SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Use of a specific ApoCIII inhibitor comprising an antisense compound targeting ApoCIII inhibiting the expression of ApoCIII is proposed for i) treating, slowing or facilitating FCS in an animal or ii) slowing or alleviating pancreatitis or its symptom in an animal with FCS, also using a compound comprising a modified oligonucleotide of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3, to treat, slow or enforce FCS in an animal and to slow or alleviate pancreatitis or its symptom in an animal with FCS.
EFFECT: proposed use of these ApoCIII inhibitors that inhibit the expression of ApoCIII lead to a reduction in TG levels and / or an increase in HDL levels in the subject, thereby providing treatment, slowing or alleviating FCS in an animal, or slowing or alleviating pancreatitis in an animal with FCS.
