SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Described is a group of inventions comprising a compound which specifically inhibits the expression of the apo(a) and/or apo(a) nucleic acid expression, composition for treating, preventing or slowing the progression of a disease associated with high apo(a) and/or high expression of Lp(a), comprising a therapeutically effective amount of the compound, method for preventing, treating, relieving or slowing the progression of a disease associated with high apo(a) and/or high expression of Lp(a), involving administering to said animal of said compound or composition. In one embodiment of the invention, the compound contains a modified oligonucleotide and a conjugating group, wherein the modified oligonucleotide consists of 12–30 bound nucleosides aimed at apo(a).
EFFECT: invention extends the range of agents for inhibiting the expression of nucleic acid apo(a) and/or apo(a) protein.
