FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of esters by the catalytic conversion of alcohols, namely furfuryl alcohol, and can find application in the perfume industry, the production of motor fuels and other fields, in which levulinic acid esters are used. In a process for preparing an ethyl levulinate producing catalyst comprising ultrasonication of graphite and its oxidation to produce graphene oxide and sulfonation, the untreated graphene oxide is sulfonated with oleum. In the process for producing ethyl levulinate by ethanolysis of a furan derivative in the presence of a graphene oxide catalyst, a catalyst prepared by this method is used as the catalyst, furan derivative is furfuryl alcohol, and ethanolysis is carried out at a temperature of 100–130 °C and a weight ratio of furfuryl alcohol: 4:1 catalyst for 3–7 hours.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase the yield of ethyl levulinate with the use of available raw materials – furfuryl alcohol.
