FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: cutting plate comprises the upper and the lower end surfaces that face the opposite directions. Main and angular cutting edges are located on each end surface. Fixing opening is formed coaxially with the central axis of the cutting plate. It contains, along its length, at least three sections, the first, the second and the central, which in cross-section by the plane perpendicular to the axis of the opening, has a non-circular shape. Other two sections of the central opening are interfaced with its central section and end surfaces and have a cone-shaped concentric shape toward the central section. Ratio of the central angles that form the successively alternating first section, which has the form of an arc of a circumference, and is circumscribed around the central section, and the second section, which is the chord of this circumference, the sections of the central section in the section by a plane perpendicular to the central axis are selected from the range 0.8…1.4, and the ratio of the diameter of the circumference that is circumscribed around the central section in the form from the end face side to the diameter of the circumference, which is inscribed into the space of the central section of the fixing opening, is selected from the range 1.06…1.3. Milling cutter includes the housing with seats, in which the cutting plates are located and fastened with screws according to one of the versions that are indicated above.

EFFECT: cutting plate is proposed.
