SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry. A method for detecting advanced colorectal adenomas in humans is described, comprising the steps of: measuring an overall profile or expression level of one or more microRNAs derived from one or more biological samples of a subject, wherein at least one of these microRNAs is miR18a; and comparing an overall expression profile of one or more microRNAs from a biological sample of a subject with expected advanced colorectal adenomas with an overall expression profile of one or more microRNAs from a biological sample of a normal subject, where the normal subject is a healthy human who does not suffer from advanced colorectal adenomas, and where the overexpression of miR18a indicates the presence of advanced colorectal adenomas.

EFFECT: invention provides wider range of means for detecting advanced colorectal adenomas in humans.
