FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to radio communications. Essence: a high-frequency harmonic signal is supplied to a modulator made of a four-terminal network, a two-pole controlled element connected to a low-frequency control signal source. Four-terminal network is made of two-terminal networks, not less than two, the parameter values of which are selected from the condition of providing the required amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics in two states of a controlled element determined by two levels of the low-frequency control signal. Two-pole controlled element is introduced between the signal source and the input of the four-terminal network into a longitudinal circuit. Load with a complex resistance is connected to the output of the four-terminal network. Resistance of the signal source is selected as a complex one. Four-terminal network is selected as a complex one. Dependences of the complex elements of the classical transmission matrix of the four-terminal network on the frequency are selected from the condition of providing the specified phase dependencies ϕ1,2 and modules m1,2 of transfer functions on the frequency in the first and second states.
EFFECT: transmission signal amplitude and phase modulation in two states of the controlled element at controlled module and phase of the transfer function in each of the states in a given frequency band.
